The novels run parallel to the series — same world, same family, each book its own entry point.

Castellane. Present day. A young vampire hunter working undercover catering jobs to fund a city-wide investigation — and a 500-year-old vampire whose feeding ground she keeps disrupting. Two predators circling each other. Neither one able to stop.
New York City. Autumn 2002. One of fewer than a dozen legitimate paranormal specialists in the country is recruited to lead a federal task force hunting what isn't officially supposed to exist. In the months after 9/11, the veil over lower Manhattan is thin — and something is feeding on the grief.
